ARE YOU A CHOCOHOLIC?

Do you really think it’s possible to live without pouring that extra chocolate syrup over your ice creams scoops, mochas or sprinkling the excess chocolate chips over your desserts? If your answer is ‘NO’, here I have some interesting facts about chocolates!

Often people do associate Obesity with Chocolates but that cannot be out rightly

ruled out. The reason being that the basic ingredients for any chocolates are Sugar and butter. But the correct Quantitative and Qualitative use of Chocolates is definitely going to work wonders for you. Cocoa, the indispensable ingredient of chocolate contains Flavonoids-an essential antioxidant that helps you keep your heart healthy by dilating the blood vessels. Compared to the regular chocolate bars, dark chocolates contain more of Flavonoids and moreover their sugar and fat content is also low. Hence you can always make dark chocolate a part of your healthy dessert.

Having a small bar of dark chocolate once in a while, may be once a week may prove to be healthy. Having a plain dark chocolate is certainly the best thing that you can prefer but if a chocolate enriched with Almonds, Walnuts or Black currants is taken, it will be like a dual health benefit. Nuts provide you a good quality Saturated fat that your body needs to carry out its normal metabolic functions and they also contain various Antioxidants. But avoid Cashew and Pistachios based chocolates.

DOES A CHOCOLATE REALLY HELP ELEVATE YOUR MOOD?

Certainly!!! Cocoa releases certain endorphins that are your “Feel good” hormones in the body which in turn helps bump up your mood. They also release Serotonin in the brain which helps relax your mind. So go ahead with a bar of dark chocolate when you are genuinely feeling low or depressed.

EXCESS CHOCOLATE IS BAD!

Anything in excess is going to cause you harm, this is true!!!

You should be well versed with what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat? As mentioned earlier chocolates contain more of fattening and sugary stuff, obviously higher intake is going to result in excess energy input which in turn will result in weight gain.

The best way to eat chocolates is to Share them….
